sukkah 15.0-17.0

special thanks to Jesse Toohey

Every fall for the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, a group of Tulane architecture students builds a Sukkah to celebrate the fall harvest. This temporary structure serves as a mini hub for students, faculty, and visitors to gather, enjoy a meal, and bond.

fall 2025 / student-led
in collaboration with Sophia Atkins, Eddie Torres, Harmon Kerrison, Dahlia Crane, Kat Rausch, Taluhla Levin & Elle Aferiat

In my third and final year on the project, I served as a fabrication consultant, handling things from calculating the width of each Sukkah module to setting up the notching system on the table saw. Eddie and I completed most of the build over Fall Break, ensuring on-time delivery just two days after.

During my second year on the project, in addition to producing structural diagrams and assisting with wood processing for the 16.1 installation in Pocket Park, I also participated in constructing the 16.0 pavilion on the rooftop of the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience.

I started at Sukkah 15.0, focusing on processing freshly CNC-machined wood, determining which piece goes where, and helping with the final assembly.
